Store closures continue all through 2019. Now it is A.C. Moore that has announced its closure.
CEO Anthony Piperno says that the company has been serving a vast community for more than 3 decades. But will now be closing down all of its 145 stores. The closed down locations will be shared on the company’s website, says Piperno.
The company which is located in Berlin, Camden County will be running only ship orders. Online orders will no longer be taken.
Online trade has taken the world by storm and retailers are the worst affected. Today’s environment is not conducive for brick-and-mortar retail store sales, says the CEO.
Some of the Arts and Crafts stores will return to Michael and will function under the “Michael” name.
A.C. Moore says that the store has been serving the community with its vast provision of arts and crafts material. The store which was first opened in 1985 has helped customers all through the years, by providing the best products. The first store was opened in Burlington County, while it had a flagship store at Broad & Chestnut Street located in Center City.
About 40 stores are to be assumed for lease by The Michael Companies Inc. It will also assume a lease on the distribution facility on the East Coast.
CEO Mark Cosby of Michaels says that he looks forward to reopening the stores under the Michaels brand in the New Year. Employees will be welcomed back in the new locations, says Cosby.
A.C. Moore has not given any time frame for the closure of the Arts and Crafts stores. Parent company Nicole Crafts has announced the store closure on Monday.
The company had given top priority to customers and has served them with a vast selection of goods, he says.
Store closures have been the most in 2019 and are expected to spill into 2020 too.
